The Paradox of Backlog Reduction
90 minutes
This is a one-hour webinar, the second in ASCLD’s webinar series, Confronting Crime Laboratory Backlogs: Causes, Solutions, Expectations. It may be an overused phrase, but when it comes to eliminating and preventing crime laboratory backlogs, doing more with less is not only possible, it is a necessity. Crime laboratory backlogs have been a major problem in the forensic science industry for decades. Federal funding through the National Institute of Justice has done wonders to help laboratories tackle their backlogs and expand their work capacities, but because of rising expectations and more requests for services, backlogs continue to be problem in several criminal jurisdictions in the United States. This webinar was recorded in its entirety at the time of the Live event in order to capture the one on one interaction with the presenter.
