Crime Analysts: Supporting Sexual Assault Investigations
Tuesday, March 26, 2019 5:45:00 PM UTC - 7:00:00 PM UTC
Duration: 1 hour(s) 15 minute(s)
SAKI TTA will host a webinar titled, 'Crime Analysts: Supporting Sexual Assault Investigations', on Tuesday, March 26, 2019 from 2:00pm – 3:00pm ET. Doors will open at 1:45pm ET.
This webinar will focus on the growing role for crime analysts as an integral part of SAKI and sexual assault investigations. The research being conducted as more SAKs are tested and more lawfully owed DNA is collected shows us that serial offenders are more common than previously known, and that there is a need for better offender tracking and data analysis. Crime analysis has been a thriving professional field for decades, but we are only beginning to see opportunities emerging in the area of sexual assault and cold case investigations. The presenter will discuss best practices for agencies and analysts when it comes to supporting sexual assault investigations and prosecution, thereby holding offenders accountable and enabling justice for victims.
