OSAC Subcommittee and Scientific Area Committee (SAC) Chairs
OSAC is part of an initiative by NIST and the Department of Justice to strengthen forensic science in the United States. The organization is a collaborative body of more than 550 forensic science practitioners and other experts who represent local, state, and federal agencies, academia and industry. NIST has established OSAC to support the development and promulgation of forensic science consensus documentary standards and guidelines in addition to ensuring that a sufficient scientific basis exists for each discipline. On February 13-14, 2017, the OSAC Subcommittee and Scientific Area Committee (SAC) chairs, covering 30 forensic science disciplines, will describe each unit’s latest projects, task groups, and planned outcomes as well as provide status updates on specific standards or guidelines.

This event is funded through a Cooperative Agreement (2011-DN-BX-K564) from the National Institute
